What is Collagen?

Collagen is the basic building block of our skin - it's important to stimulate regrowth

Our skin is made mainly of collagen, which is a protein. More than 80% (dry weight) of our skin is made of collagen. There are three major parts to our skin: collagen, elastin, GAGs, Glycosaminoglycans.

Collagen is a main structural protein found throughout our body. Collagen provides the strength our tissue and organs require while elastin provides the ability to stretch and recoil.

Sun Damage

As we age and we subject our skin to greater and greater amounts of sun damage, we degrade our skin’s collagen, causing the look and feel of our skin to degrade as well. The ability of our skin to develop healthy collagen diminishes and we are left with collagen that is damaged.
